Both the problem statements for the project assignments and the datasets originate from real-world domains.

In this subject, we will learn new concepts and research methods that are discussed in the field of Data Science that is rapidly developing by organizing, analyzing and discussing in detail the latest data related to Data Science. By selecting a professor and conducting research on a specific topic under the guidance, he/she learns experimental skills and approaches for exploring new facts in the process. Results obtained in this process are submitted to the graduation thesis at the end of the semester and the results are evaluated by the graduation thesis review committee.

As various types of technology such as information technology, data industry and software, advance rapidly and are utilized in almost every aspect of our lives, it becomes more and more important to understand the intellectual property rights in such technology which are protected by the operation of law or through contractual relationships. Only through proper understanding of the intellectual property rights, the rightful owner of the technology may transfer, share, utilize or manage its rights in a reasonable and profitable manner. Thus, in this subject, IT and Intellectual Property Right Protection, students will be introduced to basic intellectual property law issues and rationale behind them. Students will have chances to debate on intellectual property protection policy, to participate in mock trial for famous international disputes, and to practice negotiation and execution of technology agreements. Ultimately, this subject intends to help students to understand the principle of technology protection through intellectual property law, to recognize legal issues in various events in technology transaction and to be able to apply the obtained knowledge to their professions.

The course deals with the way we analyze media contents, whose size is rapidly increased, that stimulates various human senses in a complex way. Media contents themselves sensitize or desensitize visual, auditory, olfactory, and haptic organs and embrace human communication and relationships, relationships among users and ‘things’, and relationships among things. Following these new trends, content analysis techniques should be diversified. The course should encompass relevant theories, methodologies, and real world cases of media content analysis.
